The last four year of work experience have shaped me into what kind of worker I am today. While working as a Senior Counselor at Camp Fire USA, I had to responsibilities of creating activities and games for the kids. I was responsible of the kids from 9am-5pm. Creating these activities and games give me the creativity needed to be able to construct a bulletin board as a Resident Assistant. Also, we were responsible of breaking the ice within our group of kids so that everyone wanted to do each activity.
As a lifeguard and swim instructor at Forest River Park Pool, I gained the knowledge of how to jump in the pool and have approximately 20 seconds to create a lesson based on the children’s skill levels. Also, I was put in the position of “Head Lifeguard” when my boss left so I was in charge of my co-workers and make sure we all kept proficient communication with each other and the swimmers.
